I think my first action is personal hygiene and feng shui aka – get a bath and tidy the house. I have a 4 bed house so I better get going, if your house/ flat/ apartment is already tidy then think about going through that draw you’ve ignored for months or maybe start thinking about bringing in some pennies with a carboot sale... get rid of them clothes that you never going to wear! and your shoes.... yes shoes must go!
Okay follow me.... it starts today. Today is tidy house, tidy mind. This means leaving work on time at 5pm and heading home to make tea and allocate myself a couple of hours to tidy, I'll tackle it room by room!
Here are some tips to get us started:
Music – Important to put something motivating and revenge worthy on, I like the Gossip, Paramore, Boys like Girls but Radio One is just as good to keep your mind focused on the job.
First thing is tackle the room you’ve been avoiding the longest!
Get rid of any unnecessary items. Take inventory of your possessions, room by room. Walk through each room in your house and look it over, deciding which items you see that you want to get rid of. Put the box of unwanted items near the front door or in your car, to remind you that these are things to be given away or sold at a carboot sale. If you want a quick fix the majority of charity shops welcome your donation, also keep your eye open for one of those charity bin bags that get posted through your letterbox, you know the ones you never read and then just put them in the bin. I have two to use here and the collection will be made from my front step next Tuesday before 8am! That feels good already!
Make paper piles. Papers to be filed, immediate papers like phone bills or gift receipts and papers to be recycled or thrown away.
Find and embrace the negative space! Whatever that means! Theory states that a room looks a whole lot messier if every space is filled, and conversely, looks much neater and more serene if you go for a minimalist look. Put away the extra things from each shelf, dresser or table, and leave open spaces on every surface of your home, with only a few special items strategically placed. You might find that you feel more peaceful and much calmer if you are living in a house with empty spaces, rather than clutter.
Unwanted DVDS & CDs -musicmagpie.com - its easy, quick and can earn ya a bit of extra cash. Think my friend, my organised friend, got about £67 for 80 items.
Okay Im going to get started, and my first room is the wardrobe!

Snooze my life away...
My first blog will be about being selfish and how it’s sometimes a good thing. I have no reservation in saying that I have always been a very kind and selfless character; I get it from my Mum. Giving gifts is far more rewarding than receiving them... or is it?
The world is filled with people running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to make ends meet for other people's reasons and whims. I'm not talking about all requests. I'm only referring to those that you do not have to say yes to. You know which ones these are. And in the process of saying yes to all these things you forget your own well being. Instead, you go for the short term gain to make the other person happy. But at what expense? People who do not focus on their self tend to underperform, be overworked, exhausted, stressed out, underpaid, disorganised, and most importantly, unhappy.
Sound like someone you know?
Have you seen that film 13 going on 30? That moment when Jennifer Garner wakes up as a 30 year old, I feel like I have that experience everyday! Where is life going and why can’t I slow it down? Each morning my alarm rings, I hit snooze and fall straight back into a deep sleep. The alarm rings again which puts me in a bad mood, I groan and make my way to the mirror where I am faced with how much I hate me and my life. Get up; throw on some clothes, nothings ever ironed. Fight traffic, complain, get to work, park where I’m not allowed and then hate the day – watch the clock and count the minutes. Go home, eat, watch TV, and go to bed. Alarm rings, I hit snooze. It's only Wednesday - two more days to go. Oh will this week ever end? I just want to sleep until Saturday. Please let me win the lottery. I hate this job. Did I do something bad? Every day feels like I'm in prison.
I honestly envy you people that are positive and especially those ones who look forward to everyday, what’s that about? For them, work isn’t drudgery – its fun! So before I have my premature mid life crisis at the age of 26 I want to know why?
My aim to have mornings whereby the alarm rings but the shower drowns out the noise. Pick out my sexy yet professional clothes for the day. Music on the way to work – smiling while stuck in traffic; planning the day. Say "good morning" to everybody… smile some more. Go through list of things to do, add new things that come to mind. Become excited when the output looks great – oh my, time to go already… Where did the day go? Have a great dinner, talk about the day, asleep almost instantly. Alarm rings but the shower drowns out the noise. I love what I do!
So it’s time to stop hoping that my life is going to change and change it– here goes my science experiment. Aims: I want to be in control, I want to enjoy my job, I want to save money, I want to live healthy, I want good times with friends and I want feel fresh and ready to take on each day and I want to rise out of bed on that first alarm, no more snooze! I want to stop wishing my life away and I want to be HAPPY.
Who’s in? 3 months. 90 days. 2160 hours. 129600 minutes and a full time job.
